The 1996 Olympic games were held in Atlanta, GA – and marked the 100th anniversary of the modern games, which began in 1896.
Similarly, the 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame dollar marked a change – the first-ever curved coin struck by the U.S. Mint! It was issued to honor the 75th anniversary of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. It was followed by a second curved coin – this one celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
